This wasn't actually posted on 15/5, but it's a convenient way to make a small 'about' page. I set up this photoblog to stop myself from harassing anybody that walked through my front door with my photographs. Not that it helped much, but it certainly encourages me to keep making pictures.

This isn't a profoundly thought-out project, and I don't have much to say about 'my photography'. I just try to make pretty images. That does not mean I don't take it seriously. I always try to make a technically correct photograph, and I'd be very interested in tips on how to improve.

I like to develop and print myself, so I almost exclusively make black and white pictures. And I work analog, obviously. I use a flatbed scanner to scan the negatives and I use photoshop, but I limit myself to what I can reproduce in may darkroom. Which is to say, altering brightness, contrast and occasionally dodge and burn a bit. I take a few more liberties when I scan a color negative, using the channel mixer to convert to black and white, but even then I try to simulate effects I could in theory reproduce. Though I might be somewhat optimistic about my darkroom skills.
